What is my why?

To help people make sense of the world's complexity so we can protect our planet's resources, communities, and our global economy for future generations. Creativity and education are my favorite mediums.

Blake Atkerson is a Creative Entrepreneur, Water & Climate Strategist, Climate Tech Startup Adventurer, and Writer. Ready to innovate and collaborate.

We are facing challenges all over the world and in multiple verticals. Those are opportunities for innovation and growth. I am enamored with the process of turning ideas into action and the best part is I have experience doing just that. I have a habit of leaning into complexity and into the middle of new problems without known solutions. Relying on yourself and your team to face challenges that no one else can is what drives me every day.

AQUAOSO Technologies

2018 – Current

I started as employee one at AQUAOSO Technologies, PBC. From data analysis, customer support, and content writing to Head of Product and now Manager of Impact and Insights, I grew with the company from a lawyer into a multi-talented entrepreneur. Along the way I added the Tech Stars Sustainability Accelerator, Product Lead Growth Institute, and the OnDeck Climate Tech Fellowship to my accolades. AQUAOSO recently secured 2 million dollars in seed funding and expanded to 8 states during my tenure. This adventure continues!

California Indian Legal Services

2016 – 2017

As a member of the Osage Nation, I am keenly aware of the struggle Native Americans have and continue to endure today. I took my legal training and decided to do something about that. As a Staff Attorney at California Indian Legal Services, the only congressionally funded legal aid focused on protecting Native Americans, I was able to speak and represent a variety of tribal people in California. I worked on issues dealing with sacred sights, natural resources, tax, and social security. It was a tough assignment and resources were never what you would want them to be, but many were helped by the team and I will never forget the experience.

Sonoma Water

2013–2016

I found my passion for water resources while working as a Technical Writing Specialist and Department Analyst for Sonoma Water. Truly an innovative place for a local government agency. The projects that I was able to be a part of ranged from recycled water pipeline construction to floating solar photovoltaics. I learned the importance of teamwork, communication, and how to work with local governments.

I am looking to connect with people who are equally driven to solve complex issues. I am here to learn and teach at the same time. If you think I can help you in some way, send me a message.
